We lost our power here in my county in MI last sunday for only 27 hours. But the news reports show Oakland County ( where Rich lives) will not regain their power till maybe thursday.

WC - big thanks for the update. He was on a trip over the past weekend and it's good to know he is probably at home without power. Otherwise, we'd start sending out the search dogs!!

Well I just got off the phone with my son, who lives in the same county/ dirrerent area and he says maybe friday the power will be back now. He also told me there are hundreds if not thousands of big hard maples downed. So as much as I hate when I lose even one tree, rich may score big time of some free wood.

Thanks for the update. I sure hope it's only a power outage, and not a more serious weather related issue, as has been the case all too often this spring.

Living here in Michigan it seems we do lose power alot. I guess as of Tuesday there was still 190K people in a 3 county area with out power. A few years back when the whole freakin east coast lost power my wife and I was on our way to eat dinner out. So we turned around and went to a town near us not thinking duh no power lol. Seen lights on at a TSC store so we went over to see what was up. Look down they had a 8000 watt generator on sale for $350 snatched it up. Went home set up, fired it up, got extension cords out plugged in the freezer first. Kids asked what I was doing when I realized our power was never off lol. Now since I have had this generator seems we never lose power now. I think I have used it once for a 3 hour period of time. So if yas have generator and don't know this make sure you fire it up once every 3 months or more. I will hook up a hair dryer and let it run it is one of your more electric eating toy.
