So I got the 12 pot one in that BrianGSDTexoma BrianGSDTexoma has (pump is visibly louder after first night). My question is to those that use fans, at what height of the plants do you start using them?

I’m hoping to start transplanting from the hydroponics into soil then into the greenhouse. IF winter will ever go away!

I was looking at these Herb Garden Kit Indoor for growing cooking herbs. They look like might work pretty well. Summers in Texas get hot and I dont have a spot for garden. Anyone ever try one of these? They have some good deals right now

These have always caught my eye. If you are wanting something pre assembled I say go for it!

Hydroponics is actually easy and cheap to set up yourself. The Kratky system is the ultimate easiest, just a container of water with nutrients and a leca filled basket. You can get an air stone to aerate the water as well, since some plants rot in still water. Love me some botany and planting.

Or you can get you some pipe and do a small version of this:

I am lucky enough to be married to a plumber, but I imagine it could be simple for anyone to do. Happy planting!! ✌️🌱

Brian, I just ordered the 12 pot system, need the room for more seeds. On a side note my Naga Brain ghost pepper seeds just sprouted in my other hydroponic.
My pump has died. I would request a new one but only have 2 days to return. I tried the phone support on amazon but could not understand them. Guess I will try to keep plants in the water somehow while I order a different on. The one I looking at has round holes but hopefully can cut the plastic holders to get plants out. Oh well Seems to be my theme last few weeks. At least I was able to get my old hot tub going again!

I ordered the Alexa-WiFi Control APP 15Pods 7.5L Hydroponics Growing System Water Tank,Smart Indoor Garden LED Grow Light Included Seeds Built-in Fan,Pump,Up to 19.3" AMORNING

In would just order the exact one and return the old one as defective, should have lasted a lot longer.

Man the one I order is still delayed in transit. Dont know when in going to be here. I just have plants sitting in a pan with some of the water in it and turning on room lights. I would put outside but we been having some weather. Hope I dont have to start over!

Well that thing finally almost here now that most the plants are history! I thinking of just throwing in the towel and sending it back! This was the longest next day delivery in history. If it would of just took couple more days could of got it for free.

I started growing some sprouts again. Alfalfa, broccoli, mung bean and radish. Here it is on day 4.
These prefer a dark room to grow in.

I am thinking about buying one of these and grow lights for hot peppers. I am doing a bunch in raised beds and also on straw bales. I’m going to do a half dozen in 5 gallon buckets. I want to take them in for peppers all winter and to grow huge to take out following year too.

I like to add different sprouts to my meals and growing them is very easy. They need very little light and grow very fast. All you need to do is give them water. You soak them in a cup of water for 4-8 hours then place them in a growing bin covered with a wet paper towel for about 48 hours. Then you remove it and let them grow.

This is my latest batch that is almost done. 3 types. Radish, broccoli and Alphalpha sprouts. This is one week with only adding water when needed.

Day one. I used a screen on top since the seeds are so small.

Day three the seeds are sprouting.

Day 5. Everything is growing well.

Day 7. They are all mostly matured. You can use them at this point or wait a little longer if you wish. This is a very low maintenance way to add flavor to your cooks.

I considering adding an indoor system for peppers for this winter. Would like to overwinter some of the peppers in grow bags. I also want to start my own from seed early next year. Considering a Vivosun tent with LED grow lights. I’m a little hung up on calculating the monthly cost. I found a calculator so have been messing with it. Locally a few used ones just popped up on market place too.
