Just joined SMF. I'm married, 3 kids, 5 grandkids and live in the Katy, Texas area. Hobbies - I enjoy hunting, fishing and cooking and country music (think George Straight, Alan Jackson, Waylon and Willie, Aaron Watson, Cody Johnson, et.al. more so than the Florida Georgia Line type)
I judge 2 or 3 cook-offs per year around Houston (trying to get hooked up with a couple of bigger ones!) and attend the HLSR Cook-off every year (mainly to talk to the cooks to get pointers!) At present I just have a cheap offset smoker. I have a new smoker designed in my mind so I'm always on the look-out for that or something close.
I'm always looking for ideas, tips and tricks for being a better cook/smoker!
