How many pounds?

In the Chicago area the local Jewel-Osco has USDA Choice Bone-In Strip Steak for 5.99LB. I think that is a good price and I was going to pick it up for Christmas dinner. How may LBS do you think I need for 14 adults? I believe I read somewhere you should consider about 1 LB per person but not sure if that is to much.

i would just get the whole loin, they are usually around 14-18 pounds, just have the butcher crack the bone for you or bone it out or you'll have trouble slicing it, they're not like ribeyes where you could slice easily. or take a chance and wait until closer to Christmas and see if the ribeyes go on sale, they usually do!

I second the motion and when all is done you can make a great pot of stew with that rib bone..
