Globe 3500 (11") for $400.  I'm trying to talk them down to $350.

I have been trying to find a good slicer and it's time to pull the trigger because I want to do start another bacon cure in the next week or two.

Are the sharpening wheels in good shape and useable and is the blade within an 1/8" of the fence when closed (indicating the amount of wear on the blade and how much sharpening is left on it)?   Does the motor start right up or is it real slow to pick up speed or labors when running?   The value of the slicer is only as good as the condition of the blade and how well it can be resharpened and the strength of the motor driving it.

I don't know but will find out when I look at it.  Thanks!

The sharpening gear ( gear meaning all the parts to do the job...sorta like "camping gear") should be under one of the top covers..

Here's what mine looked like..They were like new..

The blades and sharpening gear can get pricey...so make sure it is in good shape!!!

Mine is not a Globe, but this gives an idea of what to look for...
