I probably put this in earlier, but interesting story an a bit long...
2002 Electron Blue Corvette Z06
Ordered from a dealership in Indiana. I lived in Denver at the time.
Had the Museum option: pick it up at the Corvette Museum, get tour of museum , and tour of the Corvette factory.
Delivery was set for 9/13/2001.
Well everyone knows what happened on 9/11.
Airlines all shut down, so we left work early and drove wife's car to Kentucky.
Walked in the door of the museum and they weren't ready for delivery.
They didn't think we would be coming.
So while they were scrambling around getting the paperwork ready, we got to tour the museum, including all the cars and everything else in the back.
Got to see the only 1983 Corvette in existence.
After we did some signing and were ready to go to the factory, they told us it was shutdown because of the incident.
Museum was nice enough the make arrangements to have my wife's car shipped home for us.
So we continued on our vacation. F##k terrorists.
Went to the dealership in Indiana to meet the guy we bought it from.
That is where my avatar pic was taken.
Then off to a pig roast at a friends in Indiana.
After that headed home.
Stopped at a Chevy dealership in Nashville for an oil change (900 miles).
Shop manager was checking out the car as they had never has a Z06 in there.
He noticed a blemished in the paint and got his body guy to buff it out. Haha
I40 back to I25 up to Rio Rancho, NM to visit a friend, the up to Denver and home.
All things considered, it was a good vacation.
Airline did reimburse us for our airfare.

As obvious in my avatar... I was a big fan of the Jack Daniels car (best looking car to date) and Clint Bowyer... But then I also support the sponsers product (The only thing I drink for the hard stuff, responsibly I might add)... Otherwise it's Yuengling light or flight...

Was a life long tobacco smoker. Had a stroke and that got took away. So I replaced it with smoke cookin because I refused to quit smokin. LoL
Other screen name on car/truck forums is DURASPANK. Came from my truck 2001 Chevrolet dually. Duramax with Foose spank wheels.

I'm just not telling the truth of my name...
But took over 30 years to get a camp/rendezvous name... went from Bubbles to dammit Bubbles in about 15 minutes! :emoji_blush:

They're gonna hate me for it! But I'm good with it! Hoots...we could hang out... gets in trouble a little bit lol!

I'm told this was my first trip to Willow Springs on Lake Texoma. I'm guessing that's around 1965. I have no memory of this but my Papaw always laughed when we looked at that picture and he call me "The Texoma Kid".

I grew up on this lake and returned time & time again. Now I live smack dap in the middle of it.

Hello all,

I have been wondering about everyones screen names. Some seem obvious, some seem off the wall, some are funny...etc....etc.. How did you come up with them? What is the story behind that name?

I guess I will start. A year or so ago, I was looking for some different ways to prepare venison. I was on the computer searching for recipes for what seemed like weeks. I would tell my wife, check this recipe out.......hey how about this one..........this sounds good to.
After a few weeks of this she said "all you ever talk about is Deer Meat, Deer Meat, Deer Meat". During this internet searching period I stumbled across SMF and lurked in the background for a day or so and then decided to join. As I sat there thinking of a screen name, I recalled why I was here in the first place and started to laugh to myself about what my wife said about me and the Deer Meat. So that is when the light came on and the name DEER MEAT was born.

If you read this I hope you are still awake, sorry for the rambling.

I thought this might be an interesting thread.
Timbo is my nickname and I LOVE to BBQ hence the exclamation point and BBQ behind Timbo!
