I am in Grayville, Illinois working it is 33° here expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow this afternoon.

I remember Pheasant Hunting in a t-shirt at Thanksgiving

It's gonna be a Long Cold Winter

Starting temp today is 6°
Yup---I remember sweating my butt off while Buck hunting on the Monday after Thanksgiving.----Was 62* out. Gotta wear orange, and the only orange I had was a heavy orange coat !!!

But I also remember Freezing that same butt off while Bear Hunting in Minus 7* on the Monday before Thanksgiving.

And I'll never forget the dumb move I made on one Thanksgiving Morning, when I went to my Annual High School rivalry football game (Quakertown vs Pennridge). I wore my Steel toed safety boots, not knowing how much cold they would absorb, even though they're inside all that leather.  OUCH !!  Dumb Move!!  Was 14* out.

Oh Yeah, steel toed shoes..... a lesson in pain.
LOL---I was young and dumb----Duhhhh.

Plus they open the gate at 8 AM, and if you weren't in line by 6 AM, you might not get a decent seat, and the game doesn't start until 10:15 !!!

Some people slept on the sidewalk in sleeping bags!!!   Big Rivalry Game!!!!

I'm shocked...I look for the white stuff in Dec. or Jan.

I'm going to take advantage of this sweltering 35F to go and rake leaves for someone. Or, they might be all frozen down; I won't know until I get there.

We haven't gotten it too bad so far.

This morning was our coldest morning so far, and that was only down to 12*.

No BELOW ZEROS yet !!!

It's been below freezing in Cincinnati for a few days now. Had 4" of snow Sunday evening. Finally got above freezing to 40 degrees today. Here I am sitting outside smoking right now as I type this, huddled next to the firebox for warmth.

It was 20 here this A.M.. 7 yesterday morning. We are expecting a heat wave though. Supposed to have highs in the mid 40's the rest of the week.
