here she is all rubed with my SW rub and wrapped with my chipotle BBB smoked with maple and hickory.........


got me sparks a flyin'..........


mesquite lump and pecan in my kettle.........ain't no weber but it's 26"........


now we are gittin' after it..........


damn near done...............


same BBB, shrooms and romas from the garden........


pulled @ 153 and rested for 10 min.........


time to get my eat on!!!!!!!!!

i'm pretty sure it is from weber.......i like it cuz the bottom folds under so it will sit on any grill surface and not get stuck between the grates..........

thx, the splits are from a tree i trimmed for an elderly feller in mesa when a storm last year brought down some pecan limbs. i told him i'd clean up his tree if i could take the wood.......of course he said sure! it was a win/win situation.........

yes that is the BOTW lump i ge from smart and final for $15/40lb bag...........some giant limbs in there sometimes and it does give off a good flavor.

I think I know what's for dinner tomorrow.  Course, it won't be as tasty as yours because I'll have to substitute in some Thick Sliced bacon from Costco, but it'll be good practice in technique.  And yes, there is some BBB in my future, once things get sorted out.

About those pecan chunks:  Did you kinda nose those into the lump as the smoke went on or what?  I'm getting a fair handle on using lump but wondered about adding chunks to the mix for mixed smoke flavor.
