Hi everyone.  I joined the forums today and am gearing up for some fall smoking!  I was previously a member of the Barbeque Bible forums and was sent over here by a friend I met on BadgerandBlade.com.

I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from everyone and can't wait to get to know everyone on the boards.

Happy Smoking!

Welcome to the SMF, sound like you're ready to do some serious smoking. Reading the forums will give you a distinct edge on the learning curve. It's all good my friend.

Welcome aboard!  SMF is a great source of information and has some really great folks who are more than willing to share information.

thanks guys! One thing I'm looking forward to is trying my hand at ribs.  I've always been a little intimidated by them but after reading a lot of the posts I feel it's certainly within my ability.  Now off to find tips on smoking turkeys...  Mine always ends up a little dry.

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. You'll find lots of good info and some great recipes here. As for the turkey I brine mine then spritz every forty minutes to an hour after the first 1.5 hours with apple juice. I also hot smoke poultry at 300-325 degrees it comes out with a nice crisp skin that way. Here's a link to the the brine recipe I usually use its very good
