Hi from Southern Indiana :)

  1. Hi there, my name is Lisa and this is my first time posting to a food forum. Lately the discussion at home has been about how many hogs we will butcher this winter. Curiosity has gotten the best of me as to what I can make homemade. We do smoked hams, sausage and bacon every year so I am looking forward to trying something new. Nice to make your acquaintances! I wish I could get my Dad on here; he loves stuff like this!

    Welcome to the board, Lisa! You've landed on a good one. Members here are a bunch of foodies with experience. Poke around the recipes.

    This board tends to have the feel of sitting around the kitchen table and chatting ... or maybe the patio ... and while cooking. But we'll tease you if you don't post pics *G*

    Where are you in southern Indiana? I ask because I used to run from Madison to Dillsboro on Rt. 62

    Oh, and just to salt the board's database for search terms, ribberfest madison

  7. Ribberfest lol- I love it. I am from Jasper. I do love Kentucky. My family drives down to Owensboro quite a bit to dine out.

    Ribberfest was the first professional BBQ competition I saw, quite an education in what kind of serious rigs are out there.

    I see BlueWhisper has given you a warm welcome from the Buckeye State but I will also add mine!!
    Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with there opinion on the subject.
    Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!

  11. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
    About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
    and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
    We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
    Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
    because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
