Hey Everyone, my name is Ed and I live just outside of Philly. My wife and I are expecting our first kid in about two months, and she brought me my first smoker in advance of Father's Day (because she's awesome). It's an Oklahoma Joe's Highland smoker and I'm looking forward to setting it up tomorrow with the help of a six pack. I'm looking forward to getting to know my smoker and everyone on the forum!

I'm one of many people here who recommend you start smoking with chicken because it's inexpensive and easy to learn the behavior of your rig.
