Hi everyone --

My name is Greg and this will be my first time smoking. My wife and daughter bought me a Master Forge smoker for my birthday and I can't wait to use it (just need some of the snow outside to melt first!). Thanks to Craig for the tip to post in the Roll Call.

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! Since it seems like a good amount of snow is melting I plan on seasoning my smoker this week. I bought Hickory chunks and was wondering if this okay to use in seasoning or should I buy something else?

Welcome to the party! I would think hickory is as good as anything to season your cooker with.
