How's it goin. My name is Steven, I am born and raised in CA. I have been wanting to start smoking for some time now. My dad introduced me to grilling when I was younger and now I am ready to take the next step. I recently got a cheap little offset smoker from a friend (couldn't pass up free). I know that I will eventually be upgrading but I figured that learning the basics on it would work. I did my first smoke a couple weeks back, got ambitious and did a brisket. I think it came out pretty good, and so did my family. 

My goal here is to learn to the basic and have some capability to smoke with my dad who has been dong this for a couple years. All advice and tips are welcome as well as appreciated.
