Hey everybody. I just recently stumbled across your forum and found it very informative, but now I definitely have some questions. I have a Brady basic smoker and I love it (on most days!). Being from New York I am a seasonal smoker. Once it gets too cold the bradley gets put away for a few months. I’ve considered setting up inside my firehouse with some exhaust fans but my captain was not a fan of the idea. I look forward to gaining some knowledge from y’all!

Welcome to the board! Bring your questions. Use the Search here to look up your smoker and see how people use them.

I used to live near a firehouse that had a gas grill in one of the bays, and the wall behind it was smoke-stained. It looked like How Not to Do It but I suppose they used their big exhaust fans.

Welcome to SMF from Texas.

I always love seeing Thin Red Line siblings in the Smoke Chamber. Been on the Thin Blue Line for almost 30 years. Sounds like your Captain needs some fresh BBQ to change his mind. Who doesn’t love the smell of smoke and cooking meat. Especially some pork. That particular smell is a certain hook. That’s is unless he is a Kosher or Halal eater!

I guess smoking at home isn't a great option? I can understand the Captains viewpoint. Especially if the house closes up when you leave on a call.
I used a Bradley smoke generator for a lot of years. But they priced the pucks to high for my cheap old butt to continue using them, and I had to mail order them.
So I transitioned to a MES 30 and an AMNPS, because pellets are available everywhere around me.
Anyway, Welcome Fireman! You are in pretty good company here.

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a cloudy and warm day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
