Good evening I am traveling to OKC  next week for some training and will be there from the 12-19 with a whole weekend to explore. Any Smoking Meat Forum Members have suggestions for good BBQ or Steak House Restaurants? Anyone in the area care to show me around on Sat or Sun.

Have fun. Cant think of ever having heard of any top notch bbq up there but there sure might be some. The place seems to have a better rep for good steaks and burgers. i know some folks who live up there but they are currently mad and sulled up about something apparently. I will put out some feelers on it and report back. .

Hey Robert!  Hope your stay in OKC is enjoyable.  Most of the BBQ places I've tried in town are really just OK.  A lot of people speak highly of Earl's Rib Palace and Swadley's Bar-B-Q, and they're both good, but I wouldn't call them great.  I kinda like Billy Sims BBQ...I believe there are 3 or 4 locations around town.

There is a pretty famous steakhouse in town that I would always recommend for any visiting meat-eater.  Look up Cattlemen's Steakhouse, located in Stockyards City on Agnew.  I usually make a stop at Cattlemen's any time I'm in the City.  If you're the adventurous type, give their lamb fries a try.
