Hello all!

I just found this forum and wanted to dive right in!

I'm new to smoking.  I've always loved backyard grilling (spent years dreaming of the day I could have a house with a yard so I could grill) and a couple of months back my wife got me Chef Paul Kirk's BBQ class as a "pick me up" gift...and I've been hooked on smoking ever since.

I have a Master Chef vertical smoker.  From what I can tell it's a knock-off of a Brinkmann except it has 3 "stages":

I've only had it about 2 months and I'm still learning.  I got to see a lot of different equipment at the class and when I can afford it (hopefully next year, maybe the one after) I'll upgrade.  Til then, I want to make the best of it.

So far I've made chicken and ribs that turned out great.  This weekend I'm going to try a nice pork butt.

I'm looking forward to learning and smoking (and eating!)
