To try and explain the craziness of our success we need to look at our location. I live on three acres in Phitsanulok province which is roughly the size of Rhode Island and the nearest city is about 25 miles away. Think Akron, Ohio. Big but not that big. Laos is about 100 miles from our front gate.

For five years now we have been opened every Fri-Sun from 10-5. Our menu is not big and there ain’t no Thai food. The dishes are all simple and what I grew up with in the Midwest. I tell the customers that I got tired of Thai food and wanted my American food.

The pizza is a thin crust and our most popular one is the Hawaiian pizza. Now if you think pineapple is terrible, wait until you see the locals pour ketchup over their pizza. This is one battle I quit fighting.

What started out with my wife and I has now grown to a staff of 14. Every weekend we generally average around 400 customers. We have been featured on numerous TV shows and it is no longer a surprise when a celebrity stops by.

Remember that old expression, happy wife, happy life? It may be true but that philosophy has sure put a hamper on my fishing.

Welcome from Colorado for the umpteenth time it seems.

I've been to Thailand a few times when I was in the Navy. Pattaya and Phuket. Loved the food, especially a Thai Hot Seafood Soup in Pattaya. Best German food I've ever had was in a little German restaurant also in Pattaya. Always said if I was ever going to live in another country it would be Thailand. Friendly folks, elephants walking around, great food, and pretty good beer as I recall.

Wow - what a story - welcome aboard! First visited Phitsanulok province about 25 years ago! Not a bad part of the world. Looks an epic setup, well done on what looks like a great success. Look forward to hearing about the next stage. Plenty of good information and vibes around here. Hi5
