Hello all,

I'm trying to follow protocol making my first post in the "Roll Call".   I've had a Brinkman electric smoker and used it for years, maybe close to 15 now.  I've never had a problem with it and have produced pounds of smoked turkey, beef and pork.  For my needs the simplicity of the electric would be tough to beat.  Some experiments worked better than others but it's always been good.  I ran across the forum here while looking for new recipes and thought I'd join up.

I have an arrangement with my wife that I do the cooking and she does the cleaning and it works out well for us.  Our son is out on his own now so it's just the two of us most of the time.

I have a pork shoulder on the old Brinkman as I'm writing this and will pull it and probably have it for lunch tomorrow.  I rubbed it with Head Country seasoning and I'll serve it with some Head Country sauce on the side.  I've tried a lot of different BBQ sauces but recently we've settled on this as our current favorite.

I'm always on the lookout for new seasonings and methods to try out.  I also have a Weber charcoal grill and use it frequently.  I hope to get a big green egg one day.

I don't know what else to add but I look forward to browsing the forums here.

Kevin

Welcome to SMF....I noticed you commented on the Big Green Egg. You may want to take a look at the Big Red Kamado Kooker at Menards. The cost is much less and does an excellent job! I have one and I love it. You cannot go wrong for the money. They are on sale this week too. Around $300 or less...Go check them out...
