Hi everyone! I'm Aaron, from Swindon though now living in Newcastle in the North East of England. I'm new to all of this but after my first attempt at smoking a little brisket cut yesterday (http://bit.ly/2d8fU7q), I think I'm now going to be smoking meat regularly!
At the moment we only have a Weber kettle-like thing, which is pretty small and basic. Would be interested to hear any recommendations for an upgrade that isn't too expensive and any other tips to get me going.
Most BBQs I've been to here in the UK (which is not that many really as it has a tendency to be grey and rain a lot here...) consist of grilled sausages, burgers, dry chicken and skewered vegetables. I want to take that to the next level and start doing proper Texan-style melt in your mouth barbecued meats for friends and family on the weekend. You can see from that first attempt with the brisket that I have a little way to go yet....
Out of interest, are there many people from the UK on here?
Cheers,
Aaron
