I've been smoking for about three years now. Started on an electric Masterbuilt. I liked how easy it was to maintain temp, but found it too difficult to keep the chips smoking. Then I got my Chargriller offset. Love the results on the thing, but I had to modify the heck out of it. And still have to babysit it like a toddler around a pool. I am now looking at possibly getting a Green Egg. Or just building a smoker. Time will tell. Primarily I smoke..., hell, who am I kidding...I smoke anything I can. Favorites are burgers, brisket and chuck roasts.

Welcome. Try getting an AMNPS for your MES. It’s a game changer. No babysitting it and adding wood chips every 20 minutes and getting inconsistent smoke. Usually get 11 hours out of a full tray. Beats spending $700 on a BGE or $500 for a decent offset until you are ready to take the next step. Lots of guys here can give you pointers on it. Good luck!
