Hello,
I received an electric smoker/grill for christmas. However, I have no idea how to use it. One of my children is a Chef and he would do all the grilling and smoking. He and his family moved to NY so now I need to learn.
I would love to impress him when he comes for summer vacation. I came here looking for a little help and to gain some much needed knowledge. I am hoping to learn how to smoke all the different types of meat, fish and poultry. Looking forward to lots of reading and getting to know the group.
Also, I don't know where to go next in here.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello from RI.

Next step is to post up some info about your smoker in an appropriate forum like General Discussion so that we can start helping you to learn how to use it and then go from there.

Welcome from Colorado. Glad to have you aboard. I would post a thread in the forum section of “blowing smoke” and tell us about your specific smoker and or grilling equipment. What kind of meats you like to eat and pictures, we love pictures around here.

Welcome from Virginia. Lotsa helpful folks here, so don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome from ND. Lots of help in the search forum or if can't find, just holler, someone will help. Would suggest getting a digital thermometer to help verify actual cook chamber temps to verify your settings are true, and to monitor meat temps.
Something as easy as chicken thighs would be a good starter.

Welcome from Colorado. You have come to the right place.

Welcome from California. Your headed down the road to ruin, in a good way. :emoji_wink: There is a lot of great knowledge and folks around here love to share what they have learned with others.

Great to have you Ducky616, glad you joined us. We'll have you cooking great food in no time. Yes, post up what you will be cooking on and we can give you some ideas where to start. And please remember, no question is a dumb question. We are here to help.

Welcome from SE Florida (Ft Lauderdale) Not knowing what "brand/Model" you have can't give too much advice. I started quite a few years ago with Masterbuilt Electric. It's been a slippery slope since then, and according to my wife, I have a problem. Take a look at my profile to see how my collection has grown.

Welcome from central Florida (winter only).
Too late for this summer, but the So Florida members have an annual gathering in November / December. Lots of hands on learning
