From Middle Tennessee. I've been smoking for about 5 years now using a Masterbuilt 30 in electric smoker.

Wanted to step my game up to a wood smoker.(actually, after my masterbuilt died for the second time i thought it was time to move on).

Looking forward to your advice, criticism and ideas.

Wema936, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and looking to up your game.  Advice and ideas are freely handed out.  Criticism, not so much, unless safety is involved.

Enjoy the forum!

Welcome to SMF!

There are sure plenty of wood smokers out there to choose from.

What kind of budget do you have?

I guess I should back up a bit as I already have the Char-Griller 5050 duo. I am about to install the firebox and do a few mods to it. This is what ill be using until I can make a decision on which way I want to go and how much I want to spend.

Good way to go about it. Take your time with the knock out plate so you dont mangle up mating surface and you'll be fine. Nomax or hi temp silicone will seal it up fine. Good luck.

Pretty cool idea.. hope your mods save some money and work better than that one they make with the offset already on it..
