F6657384-0A5A-4F4D-BFBF-33C7B1C2B80F.jpeg One of my sons gave me this. He knows I like unusual things to eat. It came from an Amish store I think. I’ve been trying to think of a use for it since it’s way to hot for normal jelly uses. I am cooking ribs today and had some trimmings that were ready early. Then it hit me. Hot pepper jelly, apple sauce, garlic and onion powder, salt and catchup warmed until liquid. I swear it is delicious on ribs. So good I was eating it with a spoon. It has a vinegar taste even though it has no vinaigrette. Really good discovery.

Never thought to put that kinda stuff on ribs but now I have to try. Usually throw it on cheese, especially the Brie after it comes out of the oven!

Jalapeno is too 'Hot'? :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I find it pretty mild, great on a Hardees sausage biscuit.
But hey, everyone has different palates and tolerances.

Looks like some stuff I used to get when my Mom lived in Arthur, IL, a central IL hub of Amish communities.

Your use of it in a sauce for ribs sounds wonderful, makes me salivate a bit.
Smoke a pork loin or poultry and try that on it, I bet it'll be just as grand.

Second ingredient on the jar label is ... vinegar. I think that is what you taste.

I have a jar of homemade Mai Ploy sauce in the fridge.
I think this may get your attention. Thai chilies have a lot of heat and flavor.
I use it for volcano chicken.

Used to get it at an Amish Farmers Market in Lancaster, PA. The stuff was great. Well balanced Sweet, Sour and Heat. On a PBJ? Not too good, but great on cheese and crackers. Not thought of the Baked Brie topping but that sounds great and baked in Puff Pastry, would be amazing...JJ

I spent a month in Thailand traveling through remote mountain region's giving out free medical care. Fell in love w/ Thai food, always a huge pot luck each village. Were talking 4-4.5k people showing up from all around.
All the women brought food so there were thousands of home cooked "specialitys" each woman would bring.
I've never eaten better. Love Thai peppers.
