Wow my yard is filled with hackberry trees!!  I never thought of using it too cook with. Guess I will have to try it!

This is one of the bigger ones that got tore up in hurricane Ike.

yeah, try it out on something cheap..like chicken quarters.....I spent a lot of time in California and we had a lot of Eucalyptus trees that would come down every now and then. I love the smell of them but wouldn't want to smoke meat with them though
