Hello SmokingMeatForums!!!

I must say after reviewing all the forums out on the internet, I have chosen this one because everyone here seems to be helpful and enjoy the art and joy of smoking meat, regardless of what equipment or preference.  That is what has drawn me to this place and I hope to be a contributor to the discussions!

I've always marveled at the art of smoking and this has been something I've wanted to do ever since living in South Carolina.  Being up here in the Northern part of VA, it's darn near impossible to find good BBQ, so I've decided to venture out on my own and see what I can "smoke" up for myself.

For starters I looked at a few BBQ's and decided on a Traeger Lil Tex Elite.  Picked it up at an Ace Hardware store along with a few bags of pellets.  I've done a few racks of ribs and it's definitely a learning process, but I'm not giving up!!!  Hope to have some worthy QView pictures in the coming weeks!

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome to the forums, Dave!  You've found the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

Thanks everyone!!  I've really enjoyed looking through all of the different forums and all the helpful tips and tricks about the forums.  I will definitely abide by all the laws and make sure not to annoy the moderators or do anything reckless!!!
