Spent most of today wandering around the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex at the 2014 Great American outdoorsman show.
My observations:
1. Wow! There are a lot of people who enjoy wearing full camo in public. Not talking military fatigues, I mean full on spring gobbler attire. Interesting.
2. The amount of gun dealers onsite there is amazing. If the economy in general is hurting that is one sector that is flourishing. (Hope this doesn't violate the no politics rule)
3. I'm missing out on a fortune on the beef and deer jerky I give away to friends and family. I paid $5 for 5 pieces of beef jerky that were about an inch wide by 4-5 inches long. Knowing what it costs me to make bulk batches, I can assume those vendors are doing okay. Of course you have to factor in being at the show 10 hours/day for 7 days plus space rental. I'll stick to just giving it away.
Overall if anyone is in the Harrisburg area, I'd highly recommend it. It's a good time for $12.00.
Plus I got to meet the folks from Lizard Lick towing.
