I talked the property owner into giving me this crazy little girl. My 25 lb 14 year old male tabby has been lonely since his sister's passed. I thought I would get him a buddy. Wasn't really looking for a kitten as they are high energy but /shrug. Let the shinanigins begin. She'll be coming home with me in the morning.

Congrats! Cats are a riot.

Thanks cats are good for staying grounded imho. If a cat likes you they like you. If they don't they don't. I love their independence and the fact that they do their own thing 90% of the time.

Soooo I got a cat gate to keep the new kitten and my big ole male apart for a while to slowly introduce them :emoji_laughing::emoji_laughing::emoji_laughing:... Needless to say the first thing she did after some initial exploring was go over the gate and under the bed EXACTLY where Leo was LOL. My cat and the kitten have both been around other cats so other than some minor you stay over there on your side hissing there were no issues. leo's under the kitchen table she's popping out from under the bad every 15-20 mins to explore some more.

First litterbox visit was her rolling around in the fresh litter. Glad I changed it before I brought her in. I assume she was marking. I seen her using the dirt out at the site so I assume it won't be an issue. she's pretty young so should be natural.

Here's a shot of leo with the large mixing tub I use as a litterbox. Give you an idea how big he is... I would guess she's no more than 2-3 lbs max she's pretty tiny.

At 6'. 3" & 230 lbs, I have always loved Cats, be they little Kitties or big old Killers.
I'm glad to see another cat-lover is among us.
Our last one "Bozo" lived 17 years & 3 months, before we buried him in our "Pet Grave" with "Shadow", our 12 year old Lab.
Our current crazy Kitty "Smokey" will be 14 years old in April.
He is a Sweetheart !

Enjoy those Kitties, Negolien,

Bear

Shes a cutie. And the Leo looks a like a bruiser. Dont think I'd want to tie with him. Once they get used to each other I'm sure they will be great company for each other. He'll be teaching her all the ways to get the hoomans to bend to their will.

Things are good so far. She's using both the boxes and wandering a lot. She came up on the bed mid nap today. Best way ever to wake up.. a kitten rolling around on her back giving you the I love you eyes lol.

Basically the reason I wanted her. She's way way too friendly and young to be a mouser. Her sibling disappeared a couple weeks ago. Probably an n owl got him if I had to guess or the weather

It's always great to have a new member in the house.. She'll do fine.
They will get along in time , nice to have 2 for the company,
we used to have 2 or 3 all the time .
We were worried about bring in in a new cat too. Last year we got a new tabby. He's a mackerel tabby also so I kinda coined him Macky.. Turns out that he grew up to be bigger than the other two cats we have. Now he's big Mack, AKA as A$$whole because he likes to bite your nose while your sleeping..
All three are male so it's just brotherly love and fighting all the time.

Mack as a kitten trying to be friends with older brother Smokey. Smokes wasn't to keen on the idea.

Big Mack with his other brother Mosca..
Between the three of them there isn't a roach, fly or spider that stands a chance in this house...

Now that is funny

Many years ago we used to have Franky, big old boy with the double toes on all feet.
He used to like to wake us up by getting on the window sill than jumping on the bed , normally that would not be so bad
But I said it was years ago and it was a big King size waterbed , so you knew when a big 20 pound cat keeps jumping on the bed for his breakfast.
He would keep doing till you finally rolled out of bed to feed him.

Oh, it doesn't end there. All of our doors have lever sets. It didn't take him long to learn how to open the pantry door to get to the cat and dog food, open the bathroom door, knock everything made of glass to the floor .. Now he's big enough to open the front door. We have to keep that locked 24/7 . We don't mind him opening the door and going outside, he just doesn't have the decency to close behind him.

Yup introducing new members to a household of cats is tough and for me has been a hit or miss proposition in the past. One of the adult mousers where I got pepper is a polydactyl cat. I been trying to get him for a year and a half lol. I can't even pet that cat and I feed him three times a week. the other mousers there also stay under the equipment and trucks which keeps the owls and hawks off em. Some cats make great mousers some are just meant to be cuddle bugs.

Oh as a side note love bites are funny a lot of my cats do that. Two of the last three did nose bites they were all from the same litter.
