Talked to my neighbor, he said he was throwing a grill away. He asked if I wanted it. At first I was like nope.
But he mentioned it was really heavy and would need help moving it. He's in his 70's so I took that with a grain of salt but was interested.
What he was throwing away was this 70-75 pound Oklahoma Grill. Quarter inch steel, built like a tank. Even had a curved ash scraper for clean out.
Needs some TLC. I want to sand blast it then primer and high temp paint.
Cant believe he was just gonna throw it away. His reasoning was it was too small for family cooking. I live alone so its a sweet little unit to have.

Nice pick up, usually most of free grills are the $99 Wallyworld special grease fired and rusted out!
I got a free grill a little while ago. One of those cheap R2D2 shaped types.
Im retired and bored so I spent time on it.
Family member gave it to me thinking it was a big deal. Sanded it down to bare metal, repainted it. Actually looked like a new grill.
Would have been good for lighting up some charcoal for my 1 person meals.
Unfortunately, someone saw it on my side porch and stole it.
I was like really? It was a $35 grill..
No one is picking up and running away w/ this new/old one.

Nah just oil it and burn....don’t waste your time painting. You need to cure it and season the outside.

Its been cured but I will do a burn. Came with ashes already inside, lol.
Im just a little particular (obsessive compulsive) about things.
The idea of making this look brand new will not go away.

I'd have to build me a stand when I got it cleaned and painted, then a cable lock to keep it from being stolen, never under estimate folks, they will work harder trying to steal stuff than if they had a job lol
