Hello friends!
My neighbor was letting me use his Traeger smoker to cook a brisket overnight. He helped me set it up, gave me pointers and was leaving town for the night. Unfortunately his wisdom is inaccessible to me at the moment.
The temp was set to 225 and the brisket was placed in at 1:30pm. I kept checking in on it every few hours, and the temperature was raising smoothly.
At 10:30pm the temp was at 143, I was instructed to wrap it in foil and flip it and I did so.
Around 1 am I checked in on it and the temp was at 154.
I woke up at 6:30am to find that the smoker shut off due to a sensor error. Ran a self-diagnosis and the error was resolved.
The brisket temp is at 138 at this time.

The Smoker is working properly now, luckily I didn’t break it.
But I do not know what temperature the brisket reached over night, or how long it was shut off for.
I was supposed to get it off if it reaches 200 by the morning, wrap it and place it in a cooler.

USDA hotline is not available on weekends so all have is the internet.
Please be kind because it’s my first time doing this and I already feel like an idiot after finding this forum too late and seeing how accurate people are here with their Smoking techniques.

Is this still usable? Any way to fix it?
Can you please give me some advice on where to go from here?

You will be fine. You reached 154 degrees so the meat is safe. And it only got down to 138... many people will hold meat at 140 degrees to keep warm.
Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you need your own smoker now... and a thermometer with alarms to use on overnight smokes so you'll be woke up when there's an issue.
