Hi everyone,

My name is DJ and I’m from northern Illinois.

I’ve been a long time reader of this forum and finally decided to join. I’ve benefited greatly from the tips, recipes and expertise of those here (much thanks to all). I hope to continue mastering my hobby and share some of the knowledge I’ve gained.

I starting learning how to smoke about a year ago using my Char-Griller Duo w/ side firebox. I want to get to the point where I can BBQ anything. I basically buy whatever meat is on sale at my local stores, find a recipe and smoke it. It is just the wife and I (along with our wheaten) so I end up giving away most of the food I cook to friends and co-workers. They are basically my taste testers.

I think I’m finally starting to get good and want to continue to advance. My next goal is to start keeping a cooking journal to track my successes and failures. I would like to share my weekly cooks and appreciate all comments, suggestions and criticisms.

Go Broncos and keep cooking!

Go broncos indeed! Denver native here.

I love this forum. I post sometimes, but I read nearly every day. I get more ideas and inspiration than I could've ever dreamed of from the carousel alone, and lots of advice from reading the various threads. This really is a great source of information and tips that prompt me to try things I probably wouldn't have otherwise.

Welcome to the SMF! It's kind of a BBQer's anonymous.... #foodporn
