So I just picked up 2 twin packs of boneless boston butts from GFS to make snack sticks with... Didn't really pay any attention to the labels... they were the only two twin packs left amongst other single packs... Since I always buy butts at GFS I just threw them in my cart... On my way out I asked the manager if the single packs are the wave of the future and are they doing away with the twin packs... He said NO... the single packs were all they could get under the current circumstances and that the twin packs will still be sold as this pandemic settles down... I said great...
So I get home... go through all the process of making 30 lbs worth of sticks .. a little shy of 4 lbs worth of breakfast links.... The wife and I both tried each of the three flavors I made (Jalapenos,Pepperoni, and Dried sticks)... and I'll be damned if ALL 3 weren't SALTY as all get out... I said where DaHell did all this salt come from... So I went back and looked at the packaging the butts were in... and low and behold... this is what it said... "Boneless Boston Butt" and over to the side in parenthesis "(MARNTD)" I gotta say... that's the first time I've ever seen a twin pack of butts that were marinated... and then I think it was nothing butt SALT....
Needless to say... I will give all these away to anybody that will eat them... I am not a big fan of salt... The Breakfast links are Maple/Brown sugar... hopefully the sweetness will knocked down the salt some... haven't tried them yet ...
