Got the butt ready to go. Had it rubbed last night, injected with Dr Pepper cherry around 4am this morning about to set it on the smoker around 250-275. Which is a little hotter than I usually smoke my butts but this is my first time injecting so I definitely want to not be in the danger zone

Workin right now at 123 degrees with 1 hour left to get to the "safe zone". Should I add heat?

Your call. Personally, I'm lazy and like the texture better when I don't wrap. I usually run a little hotter than you, right at 300°, so I don't usually get a stall. If time is a concern, definitely wrap.

I do exactly the same thing. Even before I started doing hotter smokes I didn't wrap. I like the bark and wrapping kills bark.

I'm with the others. I don't wrap butts either.

And I also smoke them at 270-280, so there really isn't any stall.

Al

I went ahead and wrapped it on 160 that's how I usually do it and have liked the results.
