Hi, My name is Mike I am originally from Minnesota but I live in Colorado now. My dad has a giant smokehouse on our family farm and have been wanting to get a smoker of my own for a while now so I started reading threads on this site a few weeks ago. I then decided to buy a steel drum to start a UDS this last weekend. I don't have a lot of smoking experience but have been cooking on a weber for many years now. I started burning the paint out of the 55 gallon steel drum I purchased this last weekend and built the charcoal basket for it as well but I am still curious on what people on this site have been using for their ash pans. Any and all advise would be great!

Your going to like your UDS. Some people use a pizza pan. Some use the drum

Lid. Some just flip it over and rinse it out.

    Happy smoken.
