So i was trying to think outside of the box for supper tonight and decided to do a frozen food meal. Now before you guys start grabbing pitch forks and torches, let me fill you in.
I used bulk frozen penne pasta left over from feeding the football team this fall. I added a bag of frozen green and red peppers from this summer. The protein was a 2.5 lb package of frozen smoked sausage.
I sliced up the sausage and cooked it down in skillet. Added that, the penne and peppers to a crock pot. Then added 2 cups of beef broth, 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, a tablespoon of Tony c creole, half a tablespoon of smoked paprika, 3 cloves of garlic, half cup of shredded parmison and half a stick of butter.
The broth was amazing, but I let it cook down to where the pasta soaked most of it up, sealing the flavor in it.
Paired with some homemade garlic bread.........killer!
The only thing I wanted to put in it to make it would if been portabella mushrooms but not everyone here likes those.
Nice hearty meal to go with the temps and time of year!
Freezer meal of the year! Wish you guys could taste it!

You're worried about pitch forks being thrown at you for that? Looks and sounds delicious! My wife left me unsupervised again... at the current time I'm drinking my supper! What do you think they'll do to me? :emoji_blush:

Looks delicious. And if you have too much left over that you do not want to eat soon, old cottage cheese or sour cream containers can be used for refreezing for a future great meal. That is done very frequently around my place. Freezer tape label on the lid works well. Makes a wide variety of possibilities available for quick meals.

Nice looking meal BED. Perfect for this time of year.

Point for sure

My concern was a combination of you guys thinking it was a freezer meal ( like the microwaveable ones in box) and the use of a crock pot lol.
Hey, not going to lie! I've had a few bowls of whiskey soup in my time that really hit the spot and warmed me up at the same time.......:emoji_wink:

Thanks! 2 of the boys still live at home, so not many leftovers to worry about usually!

I did get some supper... I just had to thin slice some rump roast that I had smoked earlier in the week. I sure like my new slicer... worked awesome!
