how long will a brisket stay "good" in the freezer ? vacuumed packed from the store ? whats the longest you have kept one in the freezer and still smoked it .

just wondering if its worth to buy them on sale and freeze or buy and smoke it as soon as I get it.

keep smoking and have a great day !

As long as it is sealed well and frozen beef cuts will last a year or so in the freezer before they start to degrade in taste.

I've had meat vac packed in the freezer for over a year.

Still good!

In a Sealed Vac-Pac, a year easy. A few years ago a member found a sealed Porkloin in the bottom of the chest freezer that was something like 6 years old and it was fine. I should qualify, a year plus in a dedicated deep freeze, -10 or low. More like 6 months tops in a Frig freezer, because families are in and out of it constantly and the temps don't hold steady...JJ
