Friday is for Smoking Pork

I'm smoking a couple of pork shoulders I still had in the freezer from the end of last year. Got a base layer of rub on yesterday and let them rest in the fridge over night. Then lightly dusted with a sweeter run before I got them on the smoker a little before 6am this morning.

At 10am I went out and probed them and put them in some pans to start collecting drippings.

Covered the pans at a little after 2pm.

I was running low on pellets so I ran to Menards. Thought I would give these a try. Anyone have any experience with them?

I was running low on pellets so I ran to Menards. Thought I would give these a try. Anyone have any experience with them?

No , but looked them up . Positive reveiws , so sounds like a wise choice . I stocked up 2 years ago pretty heavy . Down to my last bag of charcoal , and only 3 bags of pellets . Went out for a re-stock yesterday . My gosh . B&B and Lumberjack have both doubled in price . Bought just 1 bag of pellets and 1 bag of charcoal . Gonna run to Menards next week and see if they have these .

Got the pork off the smoker at 4 and 5. Let them rest wrapped in the oven until a little after 7 and pulled it before the US Soccer game started. Got it vacuum sealed up today. Then took the last bit of it and made some pulled pork nachos for an early dinner!
