That's a good price. I drink too much to drink that high on the shelf!

The one time I went to Cali years ago I was like, "what? They sell liquor at the grocery store here?". Born and bred Virginian I had never seen that. Virginia wont give up it's monopoly. VABC does a pretty good job and most of the employees are great, but I desire freedom of the liquor!

Took Virginia a while to even let distilleries sell their own product on site...

I haven't noticed that at our Sam's Club, but their price are some of the best around. Maybe it's a state-by-state thing, but our Sam's has to allow non-club members to buy alcohol.

I try to get all my bevs at Costco. They have great whiskey prices!
I normally buy my whiskey at Costco, or Total Wine & More, normally Whistle Pig for neat and Maker's for mixed drinks.
Blanton's is my favorite by a long shot, for the past 4 yrs I had to buy it from a friend that owns a local bar, and it was $100 with his slight markup. I was shocked to see it start showing up at Sam's for $90 about 6 months ago. But them having it in stock was hit-and-miss.

Lately they have had it pretty regularly. After thinking about it, I'm going back today and buying a case @$60 a bottle, you just can't beat that price these days, and a bottle last me quite a while, most of the time. LOL!!!

Alcohol sales are always a state by state thing.
In Arkansas only individuals can hold liquor licenses and only one license is allowed per individual. Sam's would have to have an individual holding a license for each store and on top of that there are only so many licenses available in the whole state and they would have to find one to buy from someone for each location.
The last I knew only one Sam's club has a liquor license and coincidentally it's real close to the Walmart headquarters.
Sam's Clubs do sell beer and wine here since those licenses are easy to get and companies can hold them.
Same story that if you go to Sam's to buy beer you don't need a membership.

It was like that in CO when we first moved back. Costco had a liquor store attached that had everything, but then CO changed the rules a bit and that store closed.

I honstly dont know the rules anymore, but lucky for us the clostest Costco (40 minutes away) sells wine beer and booze. Not sure if other do, I know several dont but its like that.

No libation at Sams here in Ky. Not our local one anyways.

Here in Pa. The state owns all the liquor stores..

I keep forgetting how good I have it here in WI. I just can't have it delivered to me. Distributors won't let that change.

HI! I grew up with the liquor industry , My Dad owned and sold Bars/Liquor stores for over 40 yrs.
In NJ Liquor Licenses are sold in each town, sometimes @ too much $!
As a town grows, can apply for a license over the existing .
However its very political, I live in a resort town, in which the prices are inflated ridiculously !
NY : also has state liquor stores, yet can buy beer and wine widespread. Went to college in NY.

Out here, grocery stores, Costco, Sam's, about every small mom & pop corner type store even some gas stations sell booze, wine, and beer. On my vacation I went to Safeway in DC to buy a bottle of bourbon. When I asked the lady working there where they kept the booze, she looked at me like I was from another planet. Then she said they can't sell it, I asked her where I needed to go to by a bottle, she pulled up the closest liquor store on my phone for me.
I thought that was really weird.
