flame up

I've tried this smoker mstrbilt. Have have some flame ups. Scared the crap outta me first for I just sit outside with the smkr. So I started soaking chips in water before loading them. But has anyone tried the pellets and do they work better.

What smoker do you have.... gas, electric, analog or digital....   How many chips are you using...  what temps are you smoking at...
