Pellet conversion to electric?

I have a Pit Boss vertical pellet smoker. Where I live(Philippines), it's almost impossible to get wood pellets in bulk. What I can get in bulk for a low price is wood splits and wood chips.

Has anyone successfully converted a pellet smoker to an electric smoker? If so, I'd love to hear how you did it.
