Featured Fish Tacos!

Spring catfish run is just starting here in south Louisiana, so time to break in my new boat. I went alone this past Saturday...after ironing out all the kinks, I finally got on the water around 9am.

First fish on the boat 5 minutes after I started fishing....

Bites came in waves... pick up 2-3 channel cats here...move and find more. Ended the day at 2pm with 11 nice channel cats all 1-2#. I did lose 4-5 fish and one was over 3# for sure. What a great day! enough fish for a meal which is all I was really after. Felt good to wet a line. First trip of the spring for me.

It was a fun day! Wall to wall sunshine, slight north breeze, 75*F...

I had company....guessing 7 foot on this gator.

Saw a 10 footer, but he would not let me get any closer for a photo. The cypress knees make the gator look smaller than he really is. Trust me-he is a legit 10 footer...

And next night....dinner night with friends. We decided on fish tacos and Brazilian black beans.

Yes You do! Go catch some fish! I saw a pair of Osprey. They must've had a nest close by because they kept catching fish and flying back into a tree overhead. Also saw a bunch of different kinds of shore birds, and one bald eagle. Was a good day. Thanks Timber!

Thank you Ishi! Prior to starting Keto, man I could put down some fried fish!! Now, I only eat it when it is fried in bacon grease! Which limits how often I eat it because I gotta cook it myself.
