This is my first time using a smoker, been enjoying a lot of the reading on the site and was time to give it a go.. My gosm arrived on monday , since then i been trying to figure out how to use it , did a few test runs with AMNPS ,and i had enough time this morning to do some ribs, so it was go time.. So got up at 6 am , got ribs in smoker close to 7am, and was done by 1pm, these turned out amazing and i am a novice,, wow, i m going to be smoking every weekend for sure .I used the 3-2-1 method, also i did some wicked beans which turned out fantastic...thanks to you all for sharing and allowing me to produce such lovely food.. peace out carlos

after hour ,, i know i was peaking way too much !!!!

Those ribs look Awesome!

So how did the AMNPS work out? I know people have had a hard time getting them to work in propane smokers, did you do any mods to make it work?

Thanks man, i was so happy with the results, i should have made more though !!!!! It took me a few dry runs to get the AMNPS to smoke properly, and still kinda messing around with different set-ups,  I removed the chip box, put a rack there and placed the amnps there, right next to one of the air vents.I also moved the water pan a little higher, so there's a space between it and the amnps, i fill the pan with play sand not water. Thats basically it, just working on controlling the temperature a little better now....

Great looking smoke -congrats

yeah.... Another one bites the dust..........welcome to your new addiction

AMNPS = A Maz-N-Pelet Smoker?

Sometimes acronyms just don't make a lot of sense.
I spent too much time chasing a google link that thought I wanted to know about guitar amps because it didn't recognise the acronym.

So JSYK, PDUFA . (just so you know, please don't use freeking acronyms.)

Edit 08/14/12: Thanks Steve. I truely appreciate that.

Tom, there is an acronym translater here, also look in the search bar.  It took me quite a while to figure them out till I found the translater!  Steve
