How did u hang your summer sausage in your masterbuilt xl I just got one as well and was trying to figure out how to hang them ??

Wooden dowel rods in place of the top rack is how some do it.

Yes I did hang them. I bought some S hooks and used the top rack to hang from. Just be careful on chub length and temp. My long chubs were fairly close to the heat and with the combined delta of the door gauge, I had some overheated sausages on the bottom. Also, I flattened out the ribs in chip pan as the wood chips will catch on fire.

Huh I haven't had an issue with the wood chips and I'm only doing 1lb chubs so should have plenty of room to breath.... Did u have the vent closed or open I don't have a needle valve on it yet so just going to be dealing with the way it is for this year..

Hey bow hunter,
Yes, I did have the vent open on the backside of the smoker. But, I did flatten out and completely close the vents on the chip pan. Lock others, the flyings would come up through the chip pie and vent and catch the chips on fire. Of course this may not happen if you don't have a lot of chips in the pan.

Also, the main issue I had with my 20" chubs wasn't so much as they hung down really low as much as it was the excess heat as the door temperature gage did not read correctly
