Hey all, life has been busy and kinda crap shoot lately. Personal things on the in laws estate and my Mom was in the ICU the last couple days. Got her home today.

I think my old CC had thought I’d forgot about it… it’s been wayyy too long!

So, started these a few hours ago… on the Camp Chef DLX 24. It’s maxed out!!

Doing three racks… one for dinner, the other for church potluck tomorrow night.

Sorry, not the best pics.

Happy to hear that your mom was able to come home from the ICU. Sounds like you need some grill therapy. Hopefully you have some time this evening to relax and enjoy yourself while those ribs are cooking!

Sorry to hear of the complications, we're here if need to bend an ear.
Dang, I like the price of those ribs. Been a helluva long time since we've been below $3.69/ lb

Justin, sorry to hear about your mom, hope she gets well and can stay out of the hosp.

Ribs will be great!

Lookin darn good 👍.
Sorry to hear your Mom was in the ICU, glad to hear she's home though.
I hear ya about being busy. Don't let it get ya brother. You got my number anytime you need to vent.

Thank you to everyone on the well wishes for Mom, she’s home and doing much better. Going to go over and have coffee this morning with her and Dad.

Gonna rant here for just a second or two… maybe three! But, IMO some people should not be practicing prescribing medicine if they are rushed… or slow your practice down for more quality care of patients. She was prescribed a couple meds that were counter acting with each other and depleted her sodium, potassium, chloride and magnesium. She blamed herself and said she should have researched. I told her I disagreed, if a medical professional that you’ve been going to consistently for almost two decades doesn’t know not to prescribe two counteracting medications… then it’s time to find a new one!! This RN was the one who found my Moms lump on her breast and will give credit where credit is due and I do appreciate her for that. But since she has went from an RN to opening her own practice and her popularity has driven her to now to be more quantity than quality. If I were her, I reversed that and put quality first! After all isn’t that why you opened your own practice… to help people?! Or was it $$?!

Sorry for the rant, but seen there were a Dr and nurse in the ICU that figured things out and Mom is doing so much better. So there are some be it very, very few in my option that that still give a $hit! Just have to be patient, selective and in the ICU to find one apparently. And she will be switching to a new primary care provider .

And all, sorry! With everything going on, I forgot the sliced pics. Two hungry teenage kids couldn’t wait and dove in on the smaller rack that was pictured on the top rack. Think of it as the Looney Tunes Taz… they hovered for a few minutes and what was left Nic and I shared… 😂

I will try to get some pics later of the ribs headed to the church potluck.

Again, thanks for the kind words on the ribs and most importantly I appreciate the very kind words concerning my Mom! You all are the best! Thank you!!

There's no place like home especially after a hospital stay.

Man, I know what you are saying about providers.
My now fired PCP blew off my PSA velocity and yup, it was caner.
I had seen many docs, then moved and on the initial interview my new doc says "I bet you are vitamin D deficient because you have been on the med for decades", she was correct. She also sent me for a cacium scan based on family history of heart disease. She was right on that too. But this was all missed by my previous few pcp's.

I check up on everything they tell me now. But my mom cant, shes 89 and doesnt understand medicine enough to AI it and grasp what it says. She was misdiagnosed with macular degeneration by Kaiser, yet is too fearful to change to a Medicare plan where she can choose who she sees.

For the elderly, poor care and lack of ability to research on their own is scary stuff! BUT, as you stated - they shouldnt have to.

Justin, Best wishes for your Mom and you talk about prescribing the wrong meds is unfortunately spot on. On a lighter note have fun smoking those ribs and that is a great price !
