Been looking for a cabinet smoker just for the extra real estate. I have a few larger cooks to do this summer and a cabinet smoker would be very helpful. I looked at the higher end like LSG they are nice but a bit $$$$ the main problem is lead time is 6 months plus. So kept kicking the idea around not wanting the cheap ones like Camp Chef or Pit Boss.

Then I ran across this,

Grilla Mammoth

Seems to fit the bill with double wall insulation and 1600 square inch of space between 5 racks, and all for under 1k. Problem is that it seems Grilla has no distributors so it’s direct order only, and they are out of stock currently. I signed up for email notification but not sure when they will be back in stock. I also like the all stainless steel interior and racks. I’d buy one today if I could find one.

LSG does have long lead times. Took 19 weeks to get my pellet grill from them.

That Mammoth looks like a nice smoker.
I have the Grilla Primate grill/griddle that I am happy with.
Looks like it would be a nice replacement for my CampChef. Hmmm???

I really would rather a coal fired unit just for the flavor profile. But this unit has a dished top on the diffuser over the fire pot specifically for wood chips or chunks to smolder, plus the pellet hopper is 40#, that along with the insulation in the cabinet I read they ran a test for how long it would continually burn at 250F with a full hopper, ended up about 50 hours of burn time. So setting some temp alarms (that I can’t hear anyway) and cooking overnight for a couple weddings would be a cinch and I get zzzzzz.

I really like the addition of the wood chucks and the reviews are also good.
Have also considered it but would love to see one up close and personal.

I’m comfortable with buying one now and sending you all the pics/video you want, but right now they are unobtainium. 😬

Looks like a nice smoker for sure! I didn’t see interior with as I would hope a full size food service pan would fit inside it……. It’s 28” wide so it looks like the interior is 24 ish touch would be perfect for many things!

They say it fits a full pan with room around it. This thing is punching the list on hands on reviews.

Interior is 3rd picture.

Says at some point, you will be able to buy an additional 5 racks. for 3300 sq. in.
Great for Jerky.

I really hate this web site. Made me go and add it to the wishlist on the Grilla site. 🤣

I’m not an impulse buyer at all. I work hard for my money, but this cooker cannot be overlooked by a BBQ enthusiast. When it’s good, it’s worth it. Now we have to figure out supply.

I'm an impulse buyer to some extent.
Depends on what it is, the price, and if I have been wanting it.

I've been wanting to replace my CampChef XXL Pro with something smaller, more in the size of a Masterbuilt, and this looks like the ticket.

With 10 shelves I would be able to a lot more jerky.
I'll have to ask Grilla a couple questions about it though.
You can buy the cover for it now and wait for the Mammoth to be back in stock. :emoji_wink:

Oh yeah, wife said she'd get it for me for Father's day. Haha

Whoa! Wait a minute. That XXL Pro is supposed to be comparable to this cooker. This cooker is not smaller at all. Just maybe better built but about the same thing. Am I wrong?

I have to older XXL Pro.
Looks a lot smaller to me. Plus the CampChef leaks smoke every place it can find to escape, and there are lots.
I keep a car oil drip pan under it to catch the liquid smoke.

I understand, but that is just crazy.

I finally got around to calling them. They do not have a waiting list it is first come first serve, and they should be back in stock in a week or to. So they told me to just keep an eye on the web page and order as soon as in stock. They also said that they are still going to be on sale for 799. I’m pulling the trigger if I’m fast enough. Lol

Haha, same questions I emailed about but did not get an answer to.

But, did get an answer to my question about a "fan only" mode for using it for cold smoking.
Does not have it, but she thought it was a good idea and would pass it on to development.

Also asked about when the additional shelves would be available to buy.
She wasn't sure, as she thought they would be in stock by now.

She also gave me a link to some videos and the user manual that may be of use to you...

FYI - The cover is available to purchase. :emoji_laughing:

I really don't need anything that big, but looking at it compared to my Camp Chef Smoke Pro DLX 24 that I paid $500 for in 2018-2019??? it looks to be a no brainer. I'm in no hurry to buy, but if the opportunity presents itself I could see one at my house.
