Right on Steve, what a great looking pup.

Im the biggest dussy when it comes to losing dogs, I just can't get another one yet, and it's been 7 yrs. Plus Carol and I enjoy getting away fairly often, and finding a sitter isn't easy for us these days.

Enjoy your new buddy, I know you will!!!

Very cool Steve , nice looking new family member. Wally is going to love the love you and Ann will give him.

I can see his ears flapping in the wind as he rides in the gulf cart LOL

(( This is the first time in 40 years that we have not had some kind of pet in our lives. Our last little one had to leave us in the spring. The 3 girls was really hard losing them one after another. Still miss Gabby ( my avatar ) and it has been 3 or 4 years for her. ))

Love me some hound dogs. Every time I see a basset hound I think of Flash from Dukes of Hazzard, and Fred from Smokey and the Bandit.

We had a Shorthair Pointer that was with us for 13 years. Went pheasant hunting every chance I had. We were so lucky to get that many years. That was 15 years ago and I still can't bring myself to get another one.

I know how you feel. If it wasn't for camping. I'm not sure we would have done this.

Sorry for your loss. Everybody has their own healing process. You'll know when you are ready. I didn't think I was until the last couple of years. We both have a huge soft spot for Bassets.

Thanks Steve, Wally looks awesome. When I was young the neighbors had a basset and loved to hear that dog howl! Enjoy.

After a slightly nasty 4 hour drive home. Wally has been checking out the house for the last couple of hours. He whined a bit coming home. But mostly slept. He didn't get car sick. Which was a huge concern. He had an accident after eating. We weren't quick enough on that. A few minutes ago. He followed me outside. And down the steps. I hooked him to a leash. And he roamed. Well. Bounced around the yard. Did his business. And came back inside. Now. He's tuckered out. And snoozing next to Ann on the sofa.
