ET-7 and grilling?

Can an ET-7 probe survive in a hot grill? I'm grilling a London Broil over hot coal in a little while. I'm wondering how hot the leads can stand. I normally use an instant read.

Sorry for being late, but here is what I found.

The directions say if you are grilling with a lid use only low or medium heat. Whatever that means.
