Made some elk jerky on the smoker the other day. Used some backwoods hickory seasoning on it and used a warming I converted to a smoker over the winter to smoke it in. I think it is some of the best jerky I have made so far.

I love elk and elk jerky as well. How long did you smoke it and what temp?

Also, can you tell a bit more on your converted warmer/smoker?!
 

Here is the link to my original post about the build on the smoker. I am going to add a Aubrey controller sometime in the future to get a little better control on the temp but it works pretty good. I smoked the elk on 160 for about 4 hours and then finished on 200 to the finished product. I ran hickory chips the first couple hours in the smoke daddy for the smoke. Hope this link works if not I will do something different.
