I picked up an Outers electric smoker and hope to get some jerky and smoked fish done with it. I posted into an old thread about it. Any advice is welcome.

Welcome from PA! Don’t have any advice, but I’m sure there are a lot of people who do!

Welcome to the forum Esox07, glad you joined us.
Try starting a new thread with questions and pics of your Outers smoker. I'm sure that will generate a good response. Good luck and again, welcome.

Edit:
There is a sub forum titled 'Smoking Supplies and Equipment - Electric Smokers'. That would be a great place to post your questions. Hope this helps.

Welcome from central Florida. We migrate south for the winter from Minnesota.

I used a Big Chief which appears similar to an Outers. OK for jerky, but warm for fish.

Hey Fueling: Where abouts in Minnesota? I grew up in Winona.

My Outers only got up to 148f during my test this afternoon. It was 65 outside and windy though. I think that is plenty low enough for smoking fish, no???

Opposite corner of the state. About 30 miles from Grand Forks.

I'm not so worried about the temperature, but the quality of the smoke

Thanks. I put some cherry wood chips in the smoker when I tested it out. I plugged it and made sure it was heating up and then went inside for 7-8 minutes. I came back out and it was already rolling smoke. I am starting to think this simple little smoker is going to work great for me. I just wish it was a bit bigger for when I do beef jerkey.
