Howdy all! It’s been some time since I was last on here and glad to be back. I just got a GMG Daniel Boone with WiFi for Christmas and notice that if I use my TelTru thermo I get consistent readings wishing 15 degrees around my grates.
I was wondering if the Don Godke Downdraft was worth the money to help not only hold heat but hold smoke longer in the chamber during cooks.

I do have the A-Maz-N 12” tube smoker and notice it does help keep more smoke there.
Just looking for more options or am I thinking too far into this lol.
Thanks and glad to be back!

I made one using a shallow pan from the dollar store. I noticed no difference in the cook times or food taste. It comes up to temperature quicker and holds a little better.

That’s Eddie!
I adjusted my lid yesterday and added LavaLock seal around it and noticed way less cycling and more consistent temps with the TelTru thermo around the grates.
