Threw on 4, 8.5 lb butts this morning. Currently running a 277.
Looks like I could see a few storms today.
"will update"

Sure is....
The rain doesn't bother my smoker to much.
Enjoy your smoke!!

Good luck!

I don't have any real experience with smoking in the rain. Any tips or things to consider?

After sufficient beverages you won't mind the rain so much. That and I will put my big patio umbrella over the MES.

Your gonna have allot of PP when your done. It's always fun to kick back and let the smoker do it's thing. I use one of those ez-up tents when it's raining here.

All my equipment is under cover but for some reason it seems wrong to cook when it's raining?:confused:o_O
Humidity?

It all depends how servre the rain is going to be, weather I put a canopy up.
Heavy downpour will knock my offset down about 20 degrees. But I adjust accordingly and it will hold temps fine.
My butts is in the 150's currently.

Butts is making progress, 2 more behind them.

Doing some bacon on the Blackstone for beans.

Looking like rain here too and windy. I set up a small canopy over the smoker and thought a couple of times that it was going to blow over. I'm currently smoking a 10# brisket on my MES30. All was well until around 9:00 when I noticed the temp wouldn't go above 150 (had been running at 175). I unplugged and then powered the smoker back up and now it will reach 175 but the heating element light stays on now. - We shall see what the rest of the day brings.

Looking good so far, Smoking in the rain goes well with a beverage in hand as well. I'll be watching this...

Pork looks really good. Thanks for the bean idea, I think I'll add some to my menu.

Denny,
I'm wondering why it won't go to whatever you have it set for, up to 275°.

Hardcookin, Great Start !!
Be Back.

That sounds painful to me.
130° is about all I can stand on my butt.

Anything to do with Bar-B-Que requires ice cold Beer.
It is a primary safety requirement.
That way if you happen to burn your hand, you simply move the ice cold beer vessel to the burned area.
Sometimes it requires two beers, one for each hand.

Lol

Thanks Bear!

Agree AB...

Bah! Only 09:06 here.

But like my Bro said, "BEER! It's not just for breakfast anymore!"

Well I'm doing a calzone this afternoon in the pizza kettle attachment. It's under a canopy so if it rains it's no big deal!
Looking forward to seeing those butts Doug, bet they will be good!!!
We have been getting rain here everyday, so I guess it will rain today too!
That is just summer in Florida!
